Astrodienst

An unbelievably useful site. Free charts and basic horoscopes, and the definitive atlas for latitude, longitude and time zone information.

Lois Rodden’s Astro  Databank

The full databank is a commercial product, but this site also has quite a  few free samples and is a good place to look for celebrity data if you don’t want to purchase the full database.

Astrolog32 Home Page

A superb - and totally free - astrology program. It has recently been  enhanced by Antonió Ramos. Read this article about Astrolog  before trying to use this program.

Astrologer.com website

This site has various links for professional astrologers, including the  Astrology Association of Great Britain.

Ephemeris generator

Part of NASA’s website, this will generate an ephemeris for any planet,  asteroid or centaur. The scientists at NASA don’t really approve of astrology,  so they don’t make the information easy to find - read this article before attempting to use this site.

Centaur ephemeris

If you find the NASA site too complicated, this site is much easier to use (but doesn’t have the range of the NASA site).

Swiss Ephemeris

If you’re a programmer and want to write your own astrology programs, this programming interface is the one to use. It’s free for personal use.

ASTROLOGY GROUPS

Aquarius Severn Astrology Society

This is one of the UK’s longest established groups, as they’ve been going since 1981. They have regular meetings in Cheltenham, and a very varied programme of events.

STUDYING ASTROLOGY

Bristol School of Astrology

If you live near Bristol and want to learn about astrology, this school offers a range of courses at very reasonable prices, at all levels. If you don’t live near Bristol, you may be interested in its correspondence course for beginners. This site has various useful articles about centaurs and asteroids.

ONLINE ASTROLOGY GROUPS

alt.astrology.moderated

This is an excellent newsgroup if you have newsreading software. It is friendly and helpful, and has posters of all levels and experience.

Node-o-Rama

This friendly and active forum has lots of useful contributions. You need to “subscribe”, as is the case in most on-line groups, but this doesn’t cost anything and doesn’t mean you’ll be inundated with unwanted e-mails!

Yahoo! Groups

There are a number of Yahoo! groups devoted to astrology - to join, you  have to subscribe to Yahoo! Groups first at www.groups.yahoo.com (again, free of charge). The biggest of the astrology groups is Conjunction, and you can subscribe to Conjunction by sending a blank e-mail to conjunction-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.  You can then edit your options at the Yahoo! Groups site to determine whether you want messages to the group e-mailed to you, or whether you want to read them at the website.
